Census Now Out: Don’t Believe it? Don’t Tick It!
The 2011 census forms have now started to be mailed out. In fact mine just arrived this morning. Although it is not due to be completed until 27th March, I am saying this in advance….
I know I live in a country that has an established Christian Church. I know that I was baptized into that church at the age of 5. I know that I live in a culture which sees itself as predominantly Christian. I do not believe in god, Jesus of the Holy Spirit. I do not believe they exist. I am NOT a Christian. I don’t believe it so I will NOT tick the Christian box. I am ticking “No Religion”. Please, if you don’t believe it then don’t tick despite any possible “cultural background”. Don’t believe it? Don’t tick it! Tick “No Religion” if you don’t believe. I think I’ve laboured the point enough!
Check out the Don’t Believe It? Don’t Tick it! Campaign, and remember this applies to much much more than the census!
