The Church is “Frustrated”…Apparently!

The ABofC has warned that the CofE is “frustrated” over the issue of women Bishops, the BBC reports.

So there are splits over the appointment of women bishops, gay marriage, calls for disestablishment…how much can this edifice take? Hopefully not much more!

What is the position of Atheism UK on women bishops in the Church of England?

Should it have a position at all? Is this not the Church of England’s business and nobody else’s? That would be so if the Church of England were a private club, like the Methodist Church, but it is “established according to the laws of this realm” and the ban on women bishops is part of those laws. However, Atheism UK’s position is that the Church of England should be disestablished and become no more than a private club.

Therefore, should we not just sit back and enjoy the spectacle of internecine strife?

Incidentally, the British Humanist Association (which also campaigns for disestablishment) does have a position on women bishops:-

a move to allow the ordaining of women bishops within the Church of England is a step in the right direction

I couldn’t give a monkey’s about women bishops to be honest. If there are women out there that are so dumb that they want to be a part of this necrophiliac gang, good luck to them. I just want to see this institution done away with, disestablishment being just the start.
