Numerous threats to freedom of speech and expression
on: August 10, 2017, 11:13

There are innumerable examples around the globe. The attacks on journalists is particularly worrying, but prosecutions for criticisms or caricatures of political leaders also impedes freedom of expression.

Erdogan, Turkey's goat enthusiast....

Thailand's crazy monarchist culture..
People sentenced for 30 years and more for insulting a man who seems to do nothing to stop the cult of monarch. He is popular and says he should be criticised, but seems lacks the popularity or credibility to get rid of the ridiculous lege majeste laws. Maybe he's just an incompetent fool after all. If people can't discuss it, perhaps that's because the worst is true.
