Daft Duterte of the Philippines

"..“For the record, I believe in God but I do not believe in religion period,” the incoming Philippine president told GMA News" in 2016.

From Reuters:
..Philippines Senator Vicente Sotto, a former DDB chief who supports Duterte’s drug war, said inflated figures serve a purpose if they scare users into quitting.
“If they make people alarmed, then why not? It doesn’t hurt anyone,” he said. “People don’t care how it’s done as long as it’s done.”
So the truth doesn't matter? It isn't simply statistics that drives concerns about immigration and about crime (in the Philippines or anywhere else). They are two separate issues. It is the events behind the statistics and the complexities which explain them.

Duterte seems to remain popular and superstitious.

I mention this as Duterte is one of many people who are among the 'nones'. They hold superstitious religious beliefs but reject organised religion. In Duterte's case he opposes the organised religion (RC) which instilled the superstitions in him in the first place.

The world is Topsy-Turvy at the moment. I have read that Brexit means 'taking back control'; Hilary Clinton is "a criminal", the ignorant and egotistical US President is "a good negotiator", and violent kleptocrat Putin is "smart"!!

The Scottish National Party think Scotland can be "independent" (economically?) of the UK when 66% of Scottish trade is with the rest of the UK, but the SNP favour UK membership of the EU because 44% of UK trade is with that bloc.

75% of British MPs are Remainers and must implement "the will of the British people" while USAmericans think a dimwitted egotist can "drain the swamp" instead of creating more problems.

Any volunteers to live on Mars?!
