Godless Scots

Most people in Scotland self identify as non-religious (59%) with women being more likely to be non-religious (62%) than men (55%)....

Scotland - home of the Wee Frees....
"Calling the Free Church of Scotland "Wee Frees" is outdated and offensive, its moderator has said..."

Whereas indoctrinating children into a superstition in a faith school is not offensive?!

This from a Wee Freer, quote, "Let the secular humanists have their schools, and let the Christians have theirs, and let parents have the choice. Or maybe freedom, choice and equality don’t quite extend that far."

What is in the children's interests? Is it to be taught critical thinking and be provided with an opportunity to examine all religions for themselves, or is it for them to receive the religion of their parents?!

Let children have the freedom of choice of religion or none and not 'receive the ethos' of a specific religion at public expense. Freedom, equality and choice for ALL. 'Give me a child under 7..' is not a what 'child-centred approach' should mean.

Children need to be in streams and sets according to many criteria, such as ability, talents, learning and behavioural problems. It is difficult enough without first segregating them by faith, colour or ethnicity. Even most religionists see the value of educating all our children together.

The alternative to 'secular' is 'sectarian'.

"..Every faith one thing in common, infect the young or its god forgotten.."
