Twenty people were killed and more than two dozen were injured in a mass shooting at an El Paso shopping center on Saturday, according to Texas and local authorities.

AT least ten people are said to be dead after witnesses reported seeing another gunman open fire in Ohio hours after the El Paso Walmart massacre.

Demonstrably, open carry doesn't work.

That some people need to carry firearms in the USA has never been disputed. There are some circumstances where a brown bear or some other dangerous animal may be encountered. Some hunting should probably be allowed. It is the gun culture of the USA that's the problem. They misinterpret the 2nd Amendment (to US Constitution) and confuse the right of an 18th century militia to "bear arms" with the indiscriminate and inadequately regulated ownership of firearms in 21st century USA.

"The only answer to a bad man with a gun, is a good man with a gun". Not true.
Not any "good" man. A properly trained, supervised and authorised person and an end to the US gun culture is the answer. This is amply demonstrated by any unbiased examination of cultures and systems around the world.
