The rights of the foster child
on: November 11, 2019, 10:10

This article gave me mixed feelings...

Race, religion and fostering

On the one hand, it is obviously beneficial to the child to be placed in a setting as familiar and easy to accept as possible and the child's interests are paramount. On the other, it seems to give importance to religious sect as an important part of a child's identity. I don't think having a 'religious identity' is something from which a child benefits and it is imparted to a child solely by their surroundings and in particular by those on whom a child is dependent.
