Lawrence Krauss is a theoretical physicist and cosmologist who previously taught at Arizona State University, Yale University, and Case Western Reserve University. He founded ASU’s Origins Project in 2008 to investigate fundamental questions about the universe and served as the project’s director.
Prof Sophie Scott is Speech Communication Leader at the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, University College London. She will speak on recent developments in understanding the brain as mentioned in her recent book ‘The Brain: 10 Things You Should Know’.
Prof Blay Whitby is a philosopher and technology ethicist, specialising in computer science, artificial intelligence and robotics. Blay is a member of the Ethics Strategic Panel of the British Computer Society. He will speak on the ethical implications of meeting the challenges of our changing times.
Keith Porteous Wood is the president of the National Secular Society, which campaigns for the separation of church and state. In 2007, Keith received the Distinguished Service to Humanism Award from the International Humanist and Ethical Union. He will speak on the constitutional implications of meeting the challenges of the changing culture and demography of the UK.
Richard Dawkins is an evolutionary biologist and author. He is an emeritus fellow of New College, Oxford, and was Professor for Public Understanding of Science from 1995 to 2008. He has agreed to be interviewed by his old friend Lawrence Krauss on the CMiCT 23 stage – we can’t wait!
