  1. It seems that many of our church leaders from whatever denomination, are genuinely running scared b ecause of the rise of atheism, humanism, secularism, call it what you will. I am proud to call myself an atheist even though certain friends think I have lost my marbles!!
Did anyone notice at William & Kate’s wedding, how many of the congregation kept their mouths shut during the singing of the hymns? Obviously, atheists afraid to “come out”
There are an awful lot of “closet ” atheists out there. I include William and Kate, Harry,
Beatrice and Eugene etc., I think they keep quiet so as not to upset Granny!
Incidently, Kate had to be confirmed before she could marry William. Such hypocrisy!

Looks like we’re at stage 3.

Magical Zombie Day. I must remember that one! As I said in an other comment today the fact that I have found this forum on Easter Sunday must be an act of devine intervention by me! Today I was risen and actually went and did some research instead of going to church and being told how great a zombie from 2000 years ago is!

No, just a plug! I leave ‘shameless’ to the religious apologists 🙂

Mark – would that be a shameless plug?

In any case it worked, should be fun!

Well, if Cardinal O’Brien doesn’t like ‘aggressive secularism’ he better not hear the talk I’ll be giving at the World Atheist Convention in Dublin this June!

Agree with you that these comments by Cardinal O’Brien are a desperate response to the progress that secularism is making in public awareness.

There’s some more “bash the secularists” comments from Lord Patten, Chairman o fthe BBC, here http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/religion/8469734/Lord-Patten-attacks-intolerant-secularists.html
