Couldn’t agree with you any more Paul. on the signifigance of the growth of atheism throughout the western world,and as one of many,am delighted to observe the address and credence given to “something that never should have been” And the hopes and unhindered aspirations of future generations. ! Unfortunately there is one part of the world,I cannot omit, That being my own country of N.Ireland where sectarian and blind bigotry [through teachings] prevails. Although I have proposed financing and confronting any credible agenda,that I have submitted to A.UK [without response] I am wide open for suggestions from credible sources ! On a serious note though. It’s great to see that atheism is growing so fast world wide that the Empire is feeling threatened. They will begin to make more mistakes and it will become public, further eroding their position. All we need to do is maintain the moral and intelectual high ground and we will prevail.
Something similar here,Virtus,only instead of reporting issues to the appropriate authority’s in Ireland . The so called defenders of their faith are more inclined to attack you,or your home,for’ being Anti Religion. Both sides Protestant/Catholic viewing this as a personal insult to their faith/religion. Irrespective of the fact,that both sides seem quite content to knock seven bells out of each other for being “The other side” It all comes down to “Blind Bigotry” in this country induced by teachings of Hate through Gods love to both parties by their respective Schools,Churches,Parents,Siblings etc. And yes the so called “Serve & Protect” will certainly make no effort to do either, for a freethinking person in this country. They were never trained for that one !

Are you talking “the American deep south”, style of reaction?? I’ve read reports where people have told the police they are being harassed and attacked for being an Atheist, only to be similarly abused by the so called “serve and protect” officers themselves!!! Insane!!
Yeah, One of those corners is here in Ireland. Where upon announcing ones atheism, has the same response as announcing,that you have just burnt a Church/Chapel !!
As an Atheist there are some corners of the World where your life is literally in danger if you express your belief.

Probably the best analogy I’ve come across to describe the fight we have against religion and all other forms of superstition.
Quite right Chill,also by virtue of the fact they are attempting to silence us,speaks volumes on the affect Atheism is having on their mind warping enterprises !
You cannot silence us, but I suppose while you’re distracted with us you might leave a few vulnerable people alone for a change!
